What are Angels? If we were to witness one would we descend into madness?

‘Angelology’ is a study of angelic beings, a collection of original paintings and 3D printed sculptures created by pop surrealism artist Jade Mars. ‘Angelology’ explores and imagines a neo-ancient index of ethereal higher powers that perhaps are calculating the numbers and overseeing human lives as we know it. Combining her surreal and hyper kawaii aesthetics with macabre and mind-bending depictions of colossal and incomprehensible god-like entities.

Mars aims to take the viewer along a stairway to Heaven through her artworks to meet our makers and explore what they just might look like. Utilizing her artistic mediums of traditional painting and 3D printed sculpture, Jade’s objective is to transform the main gallery area of Collective Haunt into a celestial, hyper kawaii slice of an archaic yet futuristic heaven.

Filled with detailed depictions of entities our minds can barely perceive. ‘Angelology’ is Jade Mars’ third solo exhibition and will feature an array of detailed traditional hangable artworks alongside hand-painted 3D printed sculptures complemented by digital video projections of 3D animations inspired by the themes of the show, interplaying seamlessly between each other to create a truly immersive space for the viewer to experience.
